Great Rider Cafes

Feed your ride this summer

John Newman

Looking for somewhere to 'feed your ride' or catch up with other motorcyclists? Here're a couple of popular places for you to head to:

This is not your regular cafe. It's a cafeteria and tourist complex sitting atop the Horseshoe Pass, about four miles from Llangollen on the A5. On a sunny day, the superb twisting road that takes you there is reminiscent of the Alps. And it's the gateway to many good routes across N. Wales and Snowdonia.

A large car park and lots of outside seating make this a good place to gather. And the car tourists are always interested in the bikes.

This is a delightful 'proper' cafe in the Montford Picnic Area off the A5, just north of Shrewsbury. As well as bright sparkling clean interior, they have a sun terrace too. Bike nights are every Tuesday, and because it's situated in a large picnic area, there's lots of space and parking.

The place to go for a fry up that's filling yet fresh. There's lots of car parking space and loads of bikes to see, plus outdoor seating for those sunny says. It's a popular cafe and can get quite busy. But the staff and atmosphere are warm and welcoming, making it worth the occasional small wait.

More great cafes coming soon. If you know of a cafe you'd like us to mention, let us know at [email protected].
