A few words from Dan Kneen:

"I've just got back from my first race of the year with the Cookstown B.E. Racing team the Adelaide Masters.  It's a short circuit championship over five meetings, but at the moment I've only planned to do the one.

I scored three top five results on the big Suzuki in the Superbike class. I posted the fastest lap in Saturday's Superbike race but had to settle for second place behind Cody Nally. Nevertheless a podium result was a great way to start the season off.

I was fifth in Sunday's Superbike race, just 2.5 seconds behind the winner Nally, before taking fourth in the Masters Grand Final behind Nally, Marshal Neill and Derek Sheils.

My best lap was 54.3 seconds in the feature race, a time only bettered by Neill. I was confident I could challenge for the win but a poor tyre choice meant I struggled for grip off the turns.

The 600 races were wet and I didn't want to push it until I'd got a good feel for it, so when I had a chance in the dry I managed to get a better understanding of how it worked. From well back on the starting grid, I cut through the midfield order to claim a fifth In five laps.

Only the top two of Davy Haire and Carl Phillips went quicker so I was happy with that.

We have a few Improvements to make to the little Honda but just small tweaks to the setup.

The worst part of the weekend was that our team technician, Mark Kelly, was hospitalized after crashing heavily when competing in one of the 250cc races on his own Honda. I'd like to wish him a speedy recovery, get well soon Horse.

The plan was just to go to Mondello to get miles on both bikes under my belt. Things went quite well and as I got up to speed I was able to challenge for decent results and I'm actually a little disappointed I didn't get a win but we are making good steps in the right direction.

Thanks to all the team for their hard work.

Cheers,
Dan Kneen
