And now for the good news...motorcycle theory test price reduction

the trend is positive!

Good news – how often is anything ever reduced? Well mostly NEVER!

However news out yesterday (23rd June) announced that the cost of the motorcycle learner theory test was going to be cut in October! Blimey! Cut by 25% in fact, which means a saving of over £100 million over the next ten years to learner riders and drivers of the future – not each obviously - but hey, mustn’t grumble.

The price of taking the theory test will now go down from £31 to £25 and then a further £2 drop in October of next year – the trend is positive!

Transport Minister Stephen Hammond said:

‘We are determined to keep motoring costs down, so we want to make sure theory tests offer the best value for money while continuing to meet rigorous standards.’

Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency Chief Executive, Alastair Peoples, explained:

‘By agreeing new contract arrangements for the delivery of theory tests we have secured significant cost savings, and it is right that we pass these savings on to our customers. We want to make sure that we continue to keep pace with customers’ needs and deliver services in a way which is both convenient and cost effective.’

The practical test is however set to stay at £15.50 for module one (off-road) and £75 for module two (on-road).  It's not that we’re being pushy at all or looking a gift horse in the mouth or anything but how about reducing that too ministers? Go on -  you know it makes sense!
