And you thought booze and bikes didn't mix!

Indian Motorcycles and Jack Daniel's whisky brand partner for the second year running

Bottle and throttles - a catastrophic combination when it comes to riding. Not so when it comes to styling, though, according to Jack Daniel's and Indian Motorcycles. The pair is celebrating their second year in partnership with another J.D-inspired motorcycle. Carrying an anti-drink-riding message with its slogan "Bottles & Throttles Don't Mix".

An odd collaboration, one might think, to convey the message. But its popularity shows its success. The partnership is now in its second year. 150 limited-edition J.D-I.M bikes sold out in eight minutes last year. This year,  just 100 bikes will be built, and they were all preordered in 10 minutes! What makes it even more special is that only one single bike was sold to the UK.

'America's first motorcycle company. America's first registered distillery. One legendary bike.'

Introducing the Jack Daniel's Indian Chieftain. What's so J.D about it? you ask. For starters, these V-twin powered machines have a black and white crystal paint job with charcoal coloured accents. This inspired by Jack Daniel's charcoal-mellowing process.

Then there's the Jack Daniel's "Old No. 7" logos and custom badges which adorn the bike. The crowning detail of which is the handmade, pure silver Jack Daniel's horn cover badge, produced exclusively for this motorcycle.

Each bike will come with an American flag handcrafted out of J.D's barrel wood. This will include the owner's name, motorcycle number and VIN.

For those of you safety-conscious (quite rightly so) types who remain sceptical about the linking of booze and riding, "Bottles & Throttles Don't Mix" will be inscribed on the bike.

Dave Stang, Director of Events and Sponsorships for Jack Daniel’s, says of the project:

“Ultimately, it’s critical to us that our partnered responsibility message of “Bottles & Throttles Don’t Mix” is heard as loud and clear as the roar of the 111” V-Twin motor that powers these Indian Chieftains. These incredible bikes are an important platform in carrying that message to consumers.”

As they all sold out in 10 minutes, you won't be able to buy one for yourself. But you can still check it out on www.indianmotorcycle.com.
