Classic motorcycles you have owned but sold

Which motorcycle do you wish you'd kept, and which bikes should you be collecting now?

Lucy England

Back on that happy day when you first passed your test and were ready to get your first motorcycle, which bike were you dreaming of owning? What did you choose and did you love it? Do you wish you still owned it and what would it be worth now if you still had it? Forget diamonds being forever, how much are beautiful old classic machines worth today, and how much pleasure would they give you if you could collect them?

Sometimes looking through pictures of old bikes it's easy to think oh no if only I had kept my......Yamaha XT500, BMW 90S, FS1E Fizzy :)? (fill in the blanks yourself )... it would be worth a mint now!

At the time you probably rode your bike into the ground and considered it a workhorse to get you from A to B or to work on. After a while you may have thought: "time I traded this one in for a better/newer one"...and suited the action to the word. Perhaps you now wish you could turn back time and change that decision?

Although that old classic may be gone, there are machines being produced today which will be the classics of the future, so if you could, which bike would you buy now as an investment? Do you have a current favourite machine which you think will be a future money spinner? Is there one in production now, which you predict will be a future diamond? How about a Royal Enfield Himalayan, Norton Commando 961, Yamaha XSR 900 - can you see one of these staying the course and rising in value down the line years ahead?

Could you see one of the new electric machines springing onto the market being a future IT bike?
Not many of us have the luxury of keeping a motorcycle in the garage to accumulate value, but if you do, or if you have one or two in there, what have you chosen? Have you been right so far and do you think you're on track?

We'd love to hear about your classic bike predictions or any smart moves you made with buying motorcycles or any you wish you'd never sold!
