Danny Buchan signs for Seton Tuning Yamaha

He will ride for the team for the next two rounds at Oulton Park and Cadwell Park

Press Release

Seton Tuning Yamaha has announced that Danny Buchan has signed to ride for the Colchester-based team for the next two rounds at Oulton Park and Cadwell Park.

Following a successful test at Oulton Park with the team last Friday, Danny will look to regain the form that saw him ride to the runner-up spot in the 2011 National Superstock 1000 championship, as he takes over the reins of the front running Seton Tuning Yamaha YZF-R6.

The twenty year old Essex based rider moved up to the British Superbike class in 2012 scoring a highest placed finish of fourth at Cadwell Park in his debut season.

The Seton Tuning Yamaha is a proven race winner and has been consistently challenging at the sharp end this season, culminating in a first podium for the season last time out at Brands Hatch GP. Danny last raced a 600cc machine in 2010, finishing third overall in the National Superstock 600 series.

Seton Tuning Yamaha has been thrown a lifeline for the next two rounds by team sponsors Excel Skip Hire and Swift Moto, but team Principal Phil Seton is still actively searching for funds to see the team through to the 2013 season finale at Brands Hatch in October (18-20).

Danny will make his racing debut for the team at Oulton Park over the weekend of 9-11 August.

Phil Seton, Team Principal:

"After a difficult, turbulent and disappointing week, Friday’s test with Danny was a breath of fresh air. There was a calm feel around the garage throughout the team, which is great. Danny rode very professionally, steadily building his pace to put in some solid lap times.
We made a few set-up changes during the day getting the bike just right for Danny’s frame and riding style. I’m not putting any pressure on Danny to perform, I want him to build up slowly and progress over the next few rounds. A rider with his talent and ability shouldn’t have much of an issue with the change from a Superbike to Supersport machine, so I’m sure that we will see him in the points.”

Danny Buchan:

"I’m really excited to jump on the 600 and get the enjoyment back and the smile on my face. I’ve worked alongside Phil back in ’07, so he knows how I work and we get along great. Also the test we did last week proved to be positive and I really enjoyed the team atmosphere. I’m looking forward to the first competitive outing at Oulton Park.”
