'Marvel'lous Motorcyclist

Motorcyclist dressed as superhero saves the day by recovering his own stolen bike

Our Motorcycle Heroes series has taken on a whole new meaning with this story. A 29-year-old American male who regularly dresses as the Marvel Comic's character, Deadpool, tracked down his own motorcycle after it had been stolen from outside his home.

For those who've never heard of Deadpool, he's been in comic books since 1991, on TV since 2004, and in films since 2009.  A fictional antihero whose superhuman abilities are that of accelerated healing and physical prowess.

The motorcyclist who dresses up as this character is named Evo Deadpool Gambino – yes, he actually did change his middle name. Recreationally, he enjoys dressing up as Deadpool and going for rides in the city of Houston, where he lives. He is well known, constantly stopping and posing for photographs.

He was able to put his persona to the test last month when he noticed his motorcycle had been stolen from the front of his house. In true superhero spirit, he used his GPS tracker to locate his bike. It was 45 minutes away so he went to the scene, found the bike in parts and called the police. He's now back and riding in his famous red suit.

If it sounds to you like this guy's a bit of a fruitcake, then hold fire on your judgement. Evo has a normal day job, working as a specialist in the US Army, and is a father of two. His reason for dressing is up is to 'take a break from reality' and to make others happy, 'which makes me happy'.

It's like Kick-Ass all over again. But this time it's a superhero motorcyclist who's kicking some ass.
