Motorcycle hero Ian Hutchinson is ready to get back on the roads!
One of the most determined motorcycle racers, Ian Hutchinson has returned to the Northern Irish race outfit TAS BMW Racing for this year's international road racing season. We say determined because he has had great racing success and overcome considerable physical obstacles from accidents in his career.
Born in Bingley in 1979 Hutchinson started his working life as a motorcycle mechanic. But he was soon tempted into racing and began to race the extremely challenging Isle of Man TT, Northwest 200 and Ulster Grand Prix.
Hutchinson, currently 34, won three Isle of Man TTs with TAS BMW Racing in 2016 and 2017 making his grand TT total so far 16!
He has had a great career up until now with much success and has also dealt with a lot of injury with real grit and determination.
His wins to date are:
Isle of Man TT - 16 - 2007 (1), 2009 (2), 2010 (5), 2015 (3), 2016 (3), 2017 (2)
North West 200 - 1 (2010)
Macau Grand Prix – 1 (2013)
Due to the current really unique circumstances, the North West 200, the Isle of Man TT and the Ulster Grand Prix have all been pulled for this year. However Hutchinson is ready and fit to race if the Covid 19 situation improves and the season finds a way to get going.
So hopefully before too long the races will be up and running again and we can look forward to some exciting times from people with true grit like Ian Hutchinson.
