True Heroes racing is the first injured serviceman's motorcycle team. The team recently competed on 12th September 2012 at the Castle Combe circuit in Wiltshire and is going from strength to strength. Since then, the team has competed at Brands Hatch and Cadwell Park and is racing at Thruxton on October 6th, and then at Cadwell Park and Mallory Park on various dates in October. This is even more impressive a schedule when you consider that rider Lance Corporal Murray Hambro, who is a double amputee, only started his rehabilitation programme at Headley Court a few months ago.

True Heroes Racing was started by Chief Petty Officer Phil Spencer who had the idea after meeting injured servicemen and women at charity events which he'd organised along with the UK charity Afghan Heroes.

The team contains a mixture of injured and able-bodied UK service personnel with Murray riding a specially adapted Triumph Daytona, despite losing both his legs in an IED explosion in Afghanistan. He was supported at Castle Combe by Corporal Graeme Billington who was injured when the Warthog armed personnel carrier he was driving, hit a mine in Afghanistan in January last year and left him wheelchair bound with little use of his right arm and hand.
