Tyco BMW racers lifted

After Motorcycle Live

On Sunday 27th, following the close of the NEC motorcycle show, four Tyco BMW race bikes were stolen from the team's transporter that was parked outside the Premier Inn hotel close to the exhibition halls.

The bikes had been on display at the show. One was the machine ridden by Ian Hutchinson in the NW200, Ulster Grand Prix and TT. Another, Christian Iddon's BSB championship bike and another, his test bike. The fourth was Guy Martin's TT bike. They were taken between 10.30pm on Sunday 27th and 6.30am on Monday 29th.

It's difficult to believe that this was not a targetted and well-planned theft. And obviously, Phil Neill, the team manager and his crew are very upset at this setback. These are not the sort of bikes that finish up in a dodgy dealers stock, or in a motorcycle breakers.

West Midlands police are asking anyone with information to contact them and speak to the officer handling the case PC Shaw (21901). Or contact TAS Racing direct on 0208 6674 8097.
