Motorcycle Brake Parts
Wemoto stocks a wide range of high quality motorcycle brake parts, available to order when it's time to work on your bike's brakes. There are brake parts for motorcycles, scooters and quads from the 1960s right up to the present day, so you can be sure to get the parts you need and have confidence in your stopping power.
Motorcycle & Scooter Brake Pads
Wemoto offers a choice of brake pad brands, available for most bike models from manufacturers like Brenta and EBC – who produce brake pads and discs for most makes and models of bike and are currently the market leader. There is a choice of organic or sintered brake pads from these manufacturers. Organic brake pads are made from organic materials bound with resin and are versatile and suitable for most riding conditions. The advantage of these is that they are comparatively quiet and bed-in fast. Sintered brake pads have more metallic compounds in their construction which makes them tougher and more suitable for heavy use, although they can feel a bit 'grabby' in the wet.
Motorcycle & Scooter Brake Discs
Motorcycle brake discs (or rotors) are available in either wavy or standard profiles from EBC and Kyoto, for many models of bike.
Motorcycle & Scooter Brake Shoes
Many classic motorcycles and scooters have drum brakes with two brake shoes inside which move against the drum lining on application of the brake and the friction produced stops the bike. Obviously the shoes get ground down after extensive use and need replacing from time to time. Wemoto holds a good stock of replacement brake shoes ready for when they are needed.
Motorcycle Brake Hoses
Wemoto only stocks braided steel brake lines which are stronger and can withstand high pressure and temperatures without distorting. HEL performance lines are TUV approved and manufactured in-house to your specifications. They come in various finishes, from carbon-fibre to lime green, along with a selection of stainless steel fittings.
Motorcycle & Scooter Brake Fluid
Because the brakes are so active, they release disintegrated particles of friction material into the brake fluid, causing it to get thick and 'grungy'. Combined with exposure to air and moisture, which can cause bubbles in the brake fluid, this can make your brakes feel less efficient. Dot 4 braking fluid, is available from Wemoto and is used as standard many manufacturers.
Brake Bleeding Tools
A brake bleeding kit can help keep the operation clean and protect your paintwork from corrosive brake fluid.
Motorcycle Brake Master Cylinders & Repair Kits
It can be costly to replace your master cylinder with an OE part so a master cylinder repair kit is a good solution which covers most of the points of failure, while saving you the cost of having to buy a full replacement.
Motorcycle & Scooter Brake Pistons & Seals
Many OEM brake pistons are chrome-plated steel which can rust and the plating flake off. Wemoto stocks a long-lasting and corrosion resistant stainess steel upgrade to these plated pistons as well as the OE-style ones. NB Be sure to clean your brake pistons first if you are intstalling new seals, including the recesses where dirt can build up. Red rubber grease is good to lubricate the seals.
Motorcycle & scooter brake caliper rebuild kits
Many components in brake calipers are perishable, so will need to be replaced when they wear out - these include the seals, bleed nipple covers and boots. Full caliper replacement kits are a good option, containing all the seals you need for the job - or the seals can be bought individually if preferred.
Motorcycle brake caliper fittings
Sometimes if the bleed nipple in the caliper has corroded it can be hard to bleed your brakes. One way round this is to instal a banjo bolt bleed nipple which you can bleed through instead of the seized bleed nipple. Wemoto has a large stock of the brake parts which need replacing frequently, for example: bleed nipples and covers, brake caliper mounting pins, brake pad retaining pins and clips and banjo bolts
Scooter brake parts
Wemoto have a good stock of the most frequently replaced brake parts for scooters as well and many are already in stock in the UK, so they can be despatched quickly when they are needed.
