Motorcycle Filters – Air, Oil and Fuel – we have them all! Motorcycle engines need just the right mix of fuel and air to work at their optimum level, so making sure that the air, fuel and oil are clear of particulates ensures that the engine is free to work properly. Motorcycle Air Filters can be made of paper or foam and are designed to catch any particles of dirt and prevent them from getting into the engine and potentially damaging it, or affecting its performance.
Air filters collect free floating bits of dirt without reducing air flow to the engine, but in order to do this they need regular maintenance which involves cleaning or replacing them when they become dirty and clogged up with particles.
Check your motorcycle handbook to find the recommended intervals for changing or cleaning the air filters for your particular machine, but be aware that in some road conditions or times of year when it is particularly dirty, you may need to do this more frequently.
HiFlo and K&N offer a good quality range of air filters, suitable for most machines. There are various filter types available, including Conical Air Filters which clamp directly on to the carburettor, thus removing the need for an air box and they can be washed and reused making them an economical option. Reusable Filters contain oiled fibre sheets held between mesh, allowing good air flow while protecting the engine and can be washed and re-oiled with an air filter recharge kit.
Motorcycle Oil Filters do an important job in keeping the oil which is circulating in your motorcycle engine clean and free from bits of crud. They should be replaced whenever your machine has an oil change and we have good makes in stock at Wemoto such as HiFlo – the first oil filters to be accredited with TUV approval, and available for motorcycles, scooters and ATVs. If you are changing the oil yourself you will need Oil Filter Tools and Wemoto stocks these too, including an adjustable strap oil filter wrench designed to fit different filter sizes.
Motorcycle Fuel Filters serve the same purpose as oil and air filters in that they block anything in the fuel which shouldn’t be there, from getting into the engine and causing havoc. They are really easy to find for your machine as well as they are listed to the motorcycle scooter or quad which they fit, simply check out the drop down parts menu for your bike to find them.
